KARINA BLODNIEKS
WEB
As stated in the "Leadership" section, redesigning the website was one of the big projects the Lariat undertook this year. Our website can be found here.
I feel the website is best viewed as a whole, hence why I'm choosing to link it. While the upkeep of the website is no longer entirely run by me, I play a role in overseeing its progress and ensuring that the content is up to date. Using a group chat with my online editors, I make sure that all content is relevant and timely. We aim for 5-10 stories on the website a week. Posting articles is split between myself and my online managing editor.
Through collaboration with our school's broadcast program, Cowboy Television (CTV), we're going to start putting video packages with our articles on the Lariat website. This should hopefully increase readership and relevance.
An example of my own webpage coding can be found on the Miami Montage website (click this link). I coded the hyperlinks, inserted the video, chose the photos, wrote the cutlines, and wrote the story. I feel this page is a good example of modern visual storytelling. I also created the additional pages and videos that can be found via the hyperlinks on my bio at the bottom of the page.
This is the Lariat website as of January 28, 2017.
