I'm Karina, a lifelong storyteller and word artist. I've been writing for as long as I can remember, and I've recently discovered a love for art, design, and photography.

I've been involved in newspaper production since middle school, but I've been the Editor-in-Chief of the Lariat since 2015. Part of my story is that I try as hard as I can to push the envelope. Publishing at a school that's under prior review, it's taken me a lot of time to gain the confidence to fight for the right to publish the truth, but now, as I look back on my time at Cooper City High School, I like to say I've made an impact.

I will be attending Columbia University next fall as a QuestBridge Scholar. I plan on studying Philosophy and eventually engaging in public policy.
