MULTIMEDIA/BROADCAST

I will be the first to admit that my broadcast work is limited. Having taken such a liking to print was something of my Achilles heel because, despite my passion for it, it's the sect of journalism that's dying fastest. Noting this trend, however, I chose to branch out into some experimental broadcast journalism at the Montage program. There, I did all the editing for this package in Adobe Premiere, essentially teaching myself the program in the week I had to put this together.

This second video was composed after the inauguration. I chose to feature minority students and allow them to have their own voices in the discourse. While I'm still learning the ropes of audio editing, I feel like the message is still clear and relevant. Note the growth in broadcast from last summer to recently. (Also, the audio on the first and last interviews particularly bother me. I used adaptive noise reduction on each and still had a hard time, but due to the fact that I couldn't afford a high quality microphone, I recorded those two with my camera microphone. Since I did the second interview on campus I could borrow a microphone from my school's broadcast program.)
